Roche offers us a reflection on Salesian evangelization and how this is seen to share with the Church and the global community the precise and specific gifts that the Salesian Spirituality of accompaniment offers the world of youth ministry and education.
The call today then is to honor our story. It is a precious story. It is a unique story. It is sacred story, a truly “holy” story. It is a story to be lived in the presence of the one who has lived it before us and has made it holy.
The question that this paper seeks to explore is to what extent Don Bosco’s educational approach was received and accepted in England and to what extent it was itself modified in the process of meeting a new and alien culture.
Il saggio presenta lo sviluppo storico delle diverse proposte di missioni pensate e organizzate dal Prefetto Apostolico mons. Fagnano, le missioni volanti fra gli indigeni tehuelches nell’esteso territorio de Santa Cruz, le missioni fra i protestanti nelle isole Malvina e le reducciones salesiane in particolare quella di “Nostra Signora della Candelaria” in Río Grande (Argentina).
La storia dell’impegno dei Salesiani a favore della lingua shuar è molto articolata.
Questo studio si propone di presentare le premesse e gli inizi delle opere salesiane a Costantinopoli e Smirne dalla prima proposta fatta a don Bosco (1815-1888) a quelle fatte al suo successore don Michele Rua (1837-1910).
È lo stesso direttore del Museo che ne fa la presentazione, illustrandone i precedenti, le varie collezioni attualmente presenti, gli aspetti tecnici, economici e turistici, le prospettive future e soprattutto il grande significato culturale per la società non solo cilena.
È uscito il secondo volume dell’Epistolario di don Bosco nell’edizione
critica curata, come per il primo, da Francesco Motto, direttore dell’Istituto
Storico Salesiano di Roma. Contiene il testo corredato dal relativo apparato
delle varianti e da copiose note storiche di 537 lettere.
Di esse 144 (il 26,8%) sono inedite.
Alla vita della Facoltà teologica nell’Università di Torino per gli anni che vanno dall’Università Imperiale napoleonica alla soppressione (1800-1873) non pare sia stata finora dedicata un’attenzione particolare se si eccettuano gli accenni reperibili in La Chiesa in Piemonte dal 1798 ai giorni nostri (Torino 1887-1904) del canonico Tommaso Chiuso, in qualche memoria sul Seminario o in alcune biografie di membri del clero torinese dell’età della Restaurazione e del Risorgimento.
