The 100 years existence of salesian work in Slovenia are summarized by the same author whose recent work was published in the local language. The century under consideration is divided politically into four long periods, and consequently from a salesian point of view very different from each other: that of the Austro-Hungarian Empire (1901-1918); that of the kingdom of Jugoslavia (1918-1941); that of the communist era (1941-1980) and that post-Tito (1980) until the present. The salesian charism once sown in Slovenian soil, even with difficulty, was able to grow, mature and renew itself, overcoming the storms of history, waiting for better times to come.
