La principale fonte di riflessione sulla vocazione è ancora la Sacra Scrittura con le grandi vocazioni dei «chiamati da Dio»: Abramo, Mosè, i Profeti, Maria, gli Apostoli, Paolo. Il concetto di vocazione viene svuotato del suo contenuto specifico se lo si interpreta come attitudine e interesse professionale senza riferimento personale a Colui che chiama.
Si propone un’analisi dell’opera “Consigli e proposte agli emigranti italiani alle regioni patagoniche dell’America del Sud” di Domenico Milanesio, scritta nel 1904, nel contesto della realtà migratoria vissuta dall’Italia e dall’Argentina fino alla fine del XIX secolo e principio del XX, relativa alla pastorale migratoria cattolica e salesiana ed alla situazione di sviluppo sociale, economico e politico del territorio della Patagonia recentemente incorporato alla nazione.
La experiencia educativa salesiana ha integrado los elementos del sistema preventivo con la propuesta de acompañamiento psico-social para aportar en la transformación del tejido social colombiano que ha vivido años de conflicto interno, y lograr un cambio en la cultura local a través del “modelo Ciudad Don Bosco”, obra en la cual, durante 50 años, se ha atendido a más de 85.000 niños, niñas, adolescentes y jóvenes que han sido vulnerados en sus derechos fundamentales por causa de fenómenos tales como la violencia intrafamiliar, que provoca la migración desde sus hogares a la calle, o las guerrillas, que los reclutan en sus filas para hacerlos parte de un conflicto sin sentido, o la explotación laboral, que los confina a oscuras minas de carbón acabando con sus sueños.

Il messaggio ricorda il centenario dell’approvazione delle Costituzioni Salesiane da parte della Chiesa, sottolineando l’importanza storica dell’evento e il suo impatto sulla vita e sulla vocazione salesiana nel corso dei cento anni successivi. Si evidenzia che nonostante le inevitabili difficoltà, il futuro della vocazione salesiana dipenderà dall’impegno attivo dei Salesiani nel custodire e valorizzare questa eredità.
