The Rector Major has just returned from an extensive journey, the longest one he has undertaken, which involved circling the globe. Through his travels, he has gained first-hand knowledge, albeit incomplete, of the Salesian presence in various nations worldwide. He highlights the growing appeal from the southern hemisphere, particularly evident through initiatives like Project Africa and the establishment of young foundations in Polynesia, Melanesia, Indonesia, and Sri Lanka.
