In Europa si verificano due tendenze forti nelle nostre società: una continua secolarizzazione con un laicismo politico e dall’altro lato un risveglio religioso con forme diverse (p.e. le giornate mondiali della gioventù ma anche le discussioni sul velo musulmano o la bioetica).
Il XXIV Colloquio della Famiglia Salesiana è nato dall’esigenza di chiarire il significato corretto del termine ‘Laicità’ nella pletora di significati che gli si attribuiscono, per potere inculturare correttamente la finalità dell’educazione salesiana nella realtà laica contemporanea.
L’expérience “Salohy” est née suite à la demande des jeunes animateurs des Oratorio de Madagascar, pour leur permettre de réaliser une expérience missionnaire auprès des enfants et des jeunes, dans un endroit où il n’y pas encore une présence des FMA ou des SDB. L’expérience “Salohy” a une double finalité: – pour les jeunes volontaires missionnaires, vivre une expérience missionnaire où ils sont des protagonistes pour porter la Bonne nouvelle aux autres jeunes; – pour les jeunes et les enfants du lieu de mission, partager la spiritualité et la méthode éducative de Don Bosco aux jeunes des autres paroisses ou diocèses. Affascinato dall’esperienza di Charles de Foucauld, nel 1971 dopo 10 anni di lavoro pastorale a Taisha tra gli Shuar dell’Ecuador, ottenne di potersi stabilire come ospite tra gli Achuar di Wichim, nella selva amazonica ecuadoriana. Following the initial communication during the Chapter and subsequent transmissions by participants, the official edition has been disseminated through Acts in various languages. He is pleased to convey a special greeting and the apostolic blessing of the Holy Father. On Friday, February 13th, the Rector Major and his Council had a special audience with the Supreme Pontiff. Their intention was to express gratitude to His Holiness for his support during the centenary celebrations of ’88, particularly for the Apostolic Brief concerning the special “Year of Grace” and his commitment to visit Turin in September 1988. The approaching celebration of GC23 is marked by preparations. In September, the precapitular commission, under the guidance of the moderator and in coordination with the Rector Major, will draft reports or schemata to be distributed in advance to participants of the general chapter. Over recent months, the Acts of various provincial chapters have been received and analyzed by the General Council. The Central Salesian Archive contains numerous eyewitness reports of Don Bosco’s words and deeds, particularly in the form of chronicles and memoirs. I drew heavily on these documents for previous articles which saw the light of day in the pages of this Journal. I shall do the same for the present article.
The Rector Major writes on the anniversary of his first religious profession, marking 50 years since that significant date, just halfway to the centenary celebrations of the congregation in ’88. He completed his novitiate two years after Don Bosco’s canonization and is observing his Golden Jubilee of profession a couple of years before the centenary of Don Bosco’s death. This period of time prompts reflections on his Salesian experience.
