A las dos y media de la tarde del martes 31 de enero de 1888, en la redacción del Diario de Barcelona se recibia un parte telegrafico enviado desde Paris por la agencia Havas-Reuter. El telegrama decia textualmente: «Ha fallecido en Turin el sacerdote Dom Bosco, fundador de numerosas instituciones benéficas».
Tutto il taglio della sintetica elaborazione che segue su Cusmano – Don Bosco, pur nella consapevolezza di un’ardita operazione pioneristica (non mi risulta nessuna pubblicazione precedente in tal senso), si colloca sul piano di semplici «appunti» e nella prospettiva, speriamo realizzabile!, di futura più ampia riflessione storica.
Questo estratto è un’eloquente omaggio al modello di vita proposto da Don Bosco. Attraverso una serie di riflessioni personali, il testo evidenzia l’importanza di seguire l’esempio di Don Bosco nella ricerca della perfezione religiosa, nell’educazione e santificazione della gioventù, nel rapporto con il prossimo e nell’operare il bene per tutti.

As in the earlier article, so also in the present one, besides transcribing and translating pertinent archival documents (chiefly letters), I will try to provide an essential historical framework designed to make the sequence intelligible.
This article examines the theological meaning of the term “secularity” in Salesian official documents. It begins with a survey of the meanings of secularity in recent theological dictionaries, then shows how these meanings are present in reflection by the sons of Don Bosco.
