Il secondo volume de Il cammino dell’Istituto delle Figlie di Maria Ausiliatrice nei solchi della storia (1943-1957) offre a chi legge la particolare situazione vissuta dall’Istituto negli anni della seconda guerra mondiale e dell’immediato dopoguerra (1939-1945) per il conflitto in atto in Europa e nel Medio Oriente, contemporaneo al fiorente irradiarsi del messaggio cristiano nelle missioni delle Figlie di Maria Ausiliatrice [FMA] in America del Sud. La sofferenza quindi per il dolore di tanti innocenti e l’improvviso annientarsi di feconde prospettive – anche in Cina il comunismo di Mao metteva alla prova la prima generazione di FMA e le loro opere piene di speranza – si intrecciavano allo stupore grato per l’espandersi vigoroso dell’evangelizzazione nell’America Latina. La gioia delle nuove fondazioni, frutto dell’eroismo delle prime missionarie, donne di tempra mornesina, rinvigoriva la fede e la speranza.

Mercè la bontà del nostro Padre Ce­leste l’istituto delle Figlie di Maria Ausiliatrice, al quale fortunatamente ap­partenete, prese da qualche tempo un grande sviluppo. Finché l’Istituto era concentrato nella Casa-Madre di Mornese, alcune copie delle Regole manoscritte pote­vano bastare a che ogni Suora ne po­tesse venire in cognizione; ma ora che per la Divina Provvidenza si sono mol­tiplicate le Case e le Suore ivi ripartite, esse non sono più sufficienti. Per la qual cosa io ho giudicato della maggior gloria di Dio, e di vantaggio all’anima vostra, il farle stampare; ed ora ve le presento.

Nell’anno 2001 il Corso di Spiritualità dell’Istituto delle Figlie di Maria Ausiliatrice (CSFMA) compie anch’esso il suo 25° di esistenza per cui possiamo dire, come già si esprimeva il Prof. Juan Picca, che anche per noi “il frutto più pregiato lo costituiscono le 460 exallieve, provenienti da tutte le parti del mondo”.

Our presence in this land is rather recent considering that we arrived in Timor only in 1988.

This article looks at the first thirty years of the presence and implantation of the Salesian charism on the soil of North-East India. The first group of six FMA missionaries disembarked in this region on 8 December 1923. During the span of time under consideration, there were eight foundations of which seven were in the North-East and one in West Bengal.

The aim of this article is to present the beginning of the work of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians in Thailand. The FMA came to Thailand invited by Fr. Gaetano Pasotti, Acting Provincial of the Salesian Congregation and later the fust Salesian Bishop in Thailand, to help in the mission field of the Salesian Fathers who arrived in Thailand on October 1927 , after they were sent away from China.

The first article of the constitution of the FMA expresses this characteristic of the institute as follows:
“Through the gift of the Holy Spiril and the direct intervention of Mary, St. John Bosco Founded our Institute as a response of salvation to the profound hopes of young girls. He endowed it with a spiritual heritage that had its inspiration in the charity of Christ the Good Shepherd, and imparted to it a strong missionary impulse”. (Const.I ).
