Kristu Jyoti College, built and launched on its mission of theological formation of the Salesians in the whole of India, was envisioned and realized in a fast-changing post-colonial world which was throwing up daunting challenges for the Church and consecrated life in general and for the Salesian Congregation with its professed goal of catering to the young and the needy in particular and that at a time when newly independent India was seeking to find its place in the comity of nations.
Il Progetto educativo, illustrato all’interno di questo testo, è chiamato a presentare l’«identità» nazionale della scuola salesiana a livello pubblico, sia ecclesiale che civile, coniugando insieme il tesoro della tradizione salesiana ed ecclesiale e le acquisizioni delle moderne scienze umane e degli approcci scolastici più evoluti.
Il Dicastero della Formazione ha elaborato una guida-base di preghiera per la comunità salesiana. Il lavoro è stato compiuto da una équipe di confratelli che ha offerto un materiale comune, da cui ogni Conferenza Ispettoriale potesse ricavare un proprio manuale. ll Settore CISI per la Formazione, partendo da tale proposta e dopo opportuni adattamenti, pubblica il presente testo e lo consegna ai Salesiani d’Italia a conclusione del centenario di Don Bosco.
Il presente manuale è rivolto a colui che ricopre il ruolo di direttore della Famiglia Salesiana. Al suo interno vi sono norme, esortazioni e consigli a cui attenersi per svolgere al meglio questo compito e sono tutti attinti da fonti molto preziose: le parole di Don Bosco, di Don Rua e infine di Don Albera.
