Affascinato dall’esperienza di Charles de Foucauld, nel 1971 dopo 10 anni di lavoro pastorale a Taisha tra gli Shuar dell’Ecuador, ottenne di potersi stabilire come ospite tra gli Achuar di Wichim, nella selva amazonica ecuadoriana. Ci volle un po’ di tempo per ordinare gli articoli e per prepararne la stampa; ma ora sono radunate e coordinate le cose che allora si stabilirono, ed ai Direttori parrà di trovarsi di nuovo qualche momento insieme con gli altri Superiori, attorno alla cara tomba di D. Del giovane Beato riminese Alberto Marvelli si sono sempre sottolineati l’impegno nel sociale, la carità verso i poveri, la vita di preghiera, mentre è rimasto un po’ in ombra l’impegno educativo. Eppure, questo ha assorbito una parte non trascurabile del suo tempo e delle sue energie. Gli scritti di Alberto sull’educazione sono, in realtà, di grande interesse, perché non solo ci aiutano ad approfondire la conoscenza della sua personalità e della sua spiritualità, ma servono anche a farci comprendere come un’intera generazione abbia potuto “resistere” moralmente agli atteggiamenti, ai comportamenti, agli stili di vita presentati dalla propaganda del Regime e sia stata in grado al termine della Seconda Guerra Mondiale di impegnarsi

Oltre i tre grandi Noviziati dell’alta Italia, se ne dovette fondare un altro in Sicilia. Vi sono Noviziati in Francia, in Ispagna, in Inghilterra e nelle varie Ispettorie dell’America, e quasi tutte queste Case sono ripiene di giovani ascritti animati da buona volontà e da ardente desiderio di diventare veri figli di Don Bosco. Assai edificante è il modo con cui alcuni superarono le gravi difficoltà che attraversavano il loro santo disegno.
