Pietro Braido – L’inedito «Breve catechismo pei fanciulli ad uso della diocesi di Torino» di Don Bosco

Chi osserva l’azione di don Bosco nel primo quindicennio di vibrante impegno educativo e pastorale (1844-1858) vi trova largamente espresso lo sforzo per l’istruzione religiosa dei giovani e del popolo attraverso gli scritti. In questo contesto si colloca, quasi sintesi logica, un lavoro rimasto inedito, un Breve catechismo pei fanciulli ad uso della Diocesi di Torino preceduto dalle preghiere del mattino e della sera, da un compendio di Storia Sacra e da un Sunto di catechismo per quelli che si dispongono a ricevere il Sacramento della cresima, della confessione e comunione. Di don Bosco non è  il Breve catechismo (che rimane quello diocesano), ma quanto avrebbe dovuto precederlo e cioè: le preghiere del mattino e della sera – un Compendio di Storia Sacra pei fanciulli – un riassunto del Catechismo breve della diocesi in preparazione ai tre sacramenti della fanciullezza e della prima adolescenza (cresima, confessione e comunione).
