In questo contributo si accennerà alla rete di assistenza degli ebrei tra il 1943 e il 1945 negli istituti religiosi, ad alcune traiettorie di spostamento sia a Roma che nel resto della penisola, senza entrare nei dettagli né parlare dell’aiuto offerto da famiglie, sacerdoti diocesani e vescovi.
Roma, capitale d’Italia e al contempo città del Papa e della Santa Sede, si trovò in una situazione singolare dopo l’8 settembre 1943, per l’intreccio della dimensione locale e internazionale, civile ed ecclesiale che incidevano sul piano politico, militare, diplomatico, ecclesiale. Su questo sfondo si situa una prima ricostruzione di un tema intrigante e complesso, come quello dei rifugiati nascosti nelle case religiose della città.

Don Bosco a reçu de nombreuses lettres tout au long de sa vie. Dans les années 1880, il en recevait parfois plus de cent par jour. Il aurait lui-même écrit probablement plus de vingt mille lettres, dont une centaine en français et un petit nombre en espagnol, anglais et allemand. Dans une lettre datée du 8 juin 1880 adressée à don Monateri, il mentionne avoir reçu une multitude de lettres. Si basa sull’esperienza delle sorelle provenienti da contesti culturali diversi, che hanno partecipato al Progetto Mornese nei luoghi di Maria Domenica Mazzarello. Questo progetto è stato coordinato da un team che ha anche riflettuto sull’argomento. Il contributo degli studi teologici, spirituali e pedagogici sulla figura di Maria Domenica si è consolidato, soprattutto presso la Pontificia Facoltà di Scienze dell’Educazione “Auxilium”. L’obiettivo di questo contributo è quello di presentare la Confondatrice dell’Istituto delle FMA, santa Maria Domenica Mazzarello, e la sua esperienza educativa a partire dalla lettura delle fonti più antiche.
Santa Maria Domenica Mazzarello, educatrice e confondatrice con don Giovanni Bosco dell’Istituto delle FMA o Salesiane di don Bosco, possiede un insegnamento che si colloca nella tradizione dell’umanesimo pedagogico cristiano e che, pur non offrendo ad esso elementi particolarmente originali, rimane tuttavia una proposta efficace in ordine all’educazione religiosa della giovane donna del secolo XIX.
Il testo fa riferimento alla figura di Don Vismara, un uomo che incarnava l’ideale dell’apostolo, dedicando la sua vita a dare agli altri e ad accogliere le richieste di chiunque ne avesse bisogno. Descritto come colmo di vero e di bene, Don Vismara era un modello di virtù e sacrificio, impegnato nell’educazione delle giovani generazioni. In recent meetings with provincials and confreres, the suggestion was made to the Rector Major that occasionally he should interrupt the series of doctrinal letters and instead share impressions and news of the Congregation and the Church from his own perspective, almost in the style of a Good Night message.
