Egidio Viganò – “Letter of the Rector Major” in “Acts of the Superior Council of the salesian society”

Since last October, the Rector Major and his councillors have maintained a busy schedule of meetings with Provincials and their councils, which will continue for some time. Meetings have already taken place with the Provinces of India, Germany, and Holland, and in April, Poland and Yugoslavia. Additional meetings are being planned. The primary focus of these gatherings has been on discussing broad and practical guidelines and policies for renewal, as outlined in the last two General Chapters. The goal is to conduct a realistic examination of conscience and review the life within the Provinces to ensure alignment with Don Bosco’s Gospel-centered mission, as outlined in the Constitutions. The overarching question being addressed is whether Salesians are truly fulfilling their role as evangelizers of the young in every Province
