Good news is emerging from various parts of the Salesian world regarding renewed efforts to understand and implement Don Bosco’s Preventive System. Nearly all the Provincial communities are taking significant steps to adhere to the directives of the 21st General Chapter and the ideas expressed in the circular letter on the Salesian Educational Plan, along with the annual practices. Additionally, the 25th anniversary of Dominic Savio’s canonization was celebrated in many locations, providing an opportunity to emphasize some of the distinctive characteristics of the Salesian approach to apostolate. In Rome, there was a Salesian youth pilgrimage, where boys and young people from across Italy gathered for a memorable meeting with the Pope. Insights and priorities for Salesian pastoral and educational work were drawn from the Holy Father’s speech on that occasion.
