Dicastero per la Formazione – Animating and governing the community. The ministry of the Salesian Rector.

Thirty-two years after the publication of the last Salesian Director’s Manual, this new version, the result of an extensive consultation process with all provinces and regions and the intense work of the General Council, is presented as a fundamental tool for the renewal of the Congregation and its educational-pastoral service.

The manual is primarily addressed to directors, key figures in the ongoing formation of Salesians and in strengthening the educative-pastoral community, but it also involves all other members of the Congregation, both religious and lay. Highlighting post-Vatican II innovations, the role of the director as guardian of Salesian identity, promoter of vocational growth, and animator of the community is emphasized.
