Egidio Viganò – “Letter of the Rector Major” in “Acts of the General Council of the salesian society of St John Bosco”

The Rector Major is drafting this letter on the Feast of Pentecost, extending wishes for the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in their hearts, fostering interior growth. This auspicious occasion marks the commencement of the special Marian Year proclaimed by the Holy Father in his encyclical letter “Redemptoris Mater” (RM), which will span until the Solemnity of the Assumption of Our Lady in 1988. The Pope envisions that Mary’s fullness of grace, as the one who believed, should illuminate and guide the Church’s faith as it journeys through the final years of the twentieth century.
