Egidio Viganò – “Letter of the Rector Major” in ” Acts of the General Council of the salesian society of St John Bosco”

The Rector Major is writing at a time when the joy of the recent consistory is still being experienced. During this consistory, the Holy Father elevated three deserving confreres to the Sacred College of Cardinals for closer and more competent service to the ministry of Peter. These confreres are His Eminence Rosalio Castillo Lara, titular Archbishop of Precausa and President of the Pontifical Commission for the Authentic Interpretation of the Code of Canon Law; His Eminence Michael Obando Bravo, Archbishop of Managua in Nicaragua (Central America); and His Eminence Alfons Stickler, titular Archbishop of Bolsena and Librarian and Archivist of the Holy Roman Church. The event is described as one of outstanding importance in the brief history of the congregation. It brings honor to the Congregation while also serving as a strong call to live with renewed intensity and fidelity to the charism in the Church
