Egidio Viganò – “Letter of the Rector Major” in “Acts of the General Council of the Salesian Society of St John Bosco”

On the feast of St. Joseph, the Rector Major reflects on the new text of the Constitutions, which presents St. Joseph as one of the patrons entrusted to the Congregation by Don Bosco himself. St. Joseph’s intercession is invoked by every Salesian in the formula of profession. His qualities of goodness, kindness, diligent work, love for Mary, and close relationship with Jesus serve as inspiration for Salesians to grow within the Church through daily work and responsibility, always with humble and joyful hearts. St. Joseph, like Mary, serves as a direct pathway to Jesus.
